Stephen Hunter Software Design develops software for embedded processors for telephony and process instrumentation. The company has also written a flight planning package for pilots. Before a pilot embarks on a flight, they will use the software to plan the route and logistics. The software can be downloaded to a global positioning system. The flight planning software is used by over 1 000 pilots in South Africa, from microlight pilots to commercial pilots and charter companies.

Prior to implementing EconoAccounting, Stephen Hunter ran an accounting system that he developed inhouse. On hearing about the package I decided to test it and found the auto-allocation feature, which imports bank statements directly from the Internet, extremely powerful.�

With EconoAccounting support we transferred the existing data into the new system quite easily, including invoices.�

Stephen was reluctant to try one of the well-known accounting packages because of the problems a friend had experienced. EconoAccounting is easy to use and to navigate. The autoallocate feature works well and I import transactions almost daily from FNB and the majority of these transactions are automatically allocated to specific expenses.

The product is robust and can produce a trial balance, income statement and balance sheet at the push of a button. As a software developer, Im impressed with the functionality, and how easy and self-explanatory the software is.�

Stephen adds that his VAT is fully up to date and he supplies his accountant with financials every six months who then performs the provisional tax calculations.
