As always, download the EconoAccounting.zip file and then unzip it into the c:\program files\econoaccounting\ folder (or to whichever folder you originally installed EconoAccounting).

Some of the new and improved features include:

A new financial analysis screen: This produces your income statement and balance sheet within the program, it is not only exported to Excel. The new report allows you to optionally include all accounts from your chart of accounts in the financial statements, even if they have zero balances. This means that reports can be analysed on a monthly basis and patterns will emerge.

Improved debtors system:

• We now support both open item and balance brought forward.
• There is an option to print all customer statements in addtion to printing one at a time.
• The statements can be based on a particular date

Project Management: By allocating each transaction to a contact in the cashbook screen you are able to do easy, simple project management - i.e. see how much any one project is costing and profits earned. The new financial analysis screen allows you to view an income statement for each contact/project. This is a feature that even very expensive packages do not have, and none make it as easy as we do.

User Accomplishments

Something that made us very motivated was a new client who successfully imported over 5000 transactions from another package in a matter of hours, producing full financial statements. Amount of time taken to accomplish this was 28 hours. This included getting to grips with using the system. No other package can boast this type of success.

We have been visiting various clients who have done exceptional work with Econoaccounting and are putting out press articles describing this. Each client benefits from the added publicity he gets. Press and Publicity

We continue to get exceptional press coverage. The press were initially wary of how we handled the accounting process, but because it is so different it is making waves. We have been interviewed on the radio, in the mainstream and specialised press. On Monday December 6, Business Day should be publishing a long interview with us covering local content of software products.

Proudly South African

Leading on from the previous paragraph we have applied for accreditation from Proudly South African. If any product is proudly South African, and very definitely developed for South Africa, it is EconoAccounting. We hope to have permission soon to include their logo.

Projects for Next Year

This list is subject to change but so far we intend doing the following:

Budgets: There will be a facility to include budgets in EconoAccounting, probably by importing your Excel spreadsheet. It will give you an analysis of actual performance vs budgets month by month or on an annual basis. All registered users will be able to download this new version at no extra cost.

User Group

As we have stated previously we intend starting a user group of EconoAccounting users. The intention is to meet once a month and discuss interesting topics relating to EconoAccounting, accounting, tax, SARS, and economics in general, to help you get the most out of EconoAccounting. We will keep you informed of dates and venue.
