I cannot download my bank statement Print E-mail

ABSA have identified a fault on their web site that occurs with users using Microsoft XP, ver 2. They suggest the following:

Please do the following:

From Internet Explorer

  1. Select the Tools menu
  2. Select Internet Options Submenu
  3. Select the Security Tab
  4. Click on the Internet Zone (Usually selected by default)
  5. Click on Custom Level at the bottom of the page
  6. Scroll down to the Downloads section
  7. Enable Downloads and Automatic prompting for downloads
  8. Click OK to exit

From any windows Folder i.e. My Documents

  1. Select the Tools Menu
  2. Select the File Types Tab
  3. Find the following Registered File Types
  4. OFC – Microsoft Money
  5. QIF – Quicken
  6. TXT – Notepad
  7. Remove them by clicking the delete button
  8. Click OK to exit

Note: When the users removes the associated file type, they will not be able to double click on the file or icon in any windows explorer to open the file with Microsoft Money or Quicken etc. They will be prompted by Windows to select the program associated with the specified file type. Please not that they can select to always open the file, with the selected program but this may again lead to files not being downloaded or (as was the case during testing), IE did not prompt for the file to be saved and just opened the file using the associated program.
