When I click on Import Statements in the cashbook - Please wait appears.

Answer:

The Please Wait does mean that something is wrong - usually a file is of the wrong format and will not allow the import. The solution is to delete everything that is in that folder and to download from the bank's website again. Do not open the downloaded file. That can also change the format.
