How do I handle debtors if I do not have any invoices made out in the system?

Answer:

You have to use the Debit Notes option. You will find this in the Invoices Menu at the top of the screen. Your customers details need to be added under Contacts.
Click on Debit Notes. This opens a screen that looks very similar to the Cashbook screen. Choose Complete the fields. Date is usually the date that you produced the original invoice (either manually or by using another system) Fill in the amount. Type in a description. This will differ depending on your type of business. Type in the invoice number and choose your contact/customer from the drop down box. Click SAVE.
You can print out a statement for this customer.
After downloading your bank statements and importing into the Cashbook, you will see payments coming through. You will allocate these payments to DEBTORS. You can type in a description eg. Payment received - etc. You need to identify the customer.
